The story, "The Navajo Origin Legend", is another on of those creation stories which obviously comes from the Navajo and was retold by Washington Matthews. This story starts off talking about how the people washed themselves because of ablutions which means to wash yourself as a religous rite. They then hear the distant call of the approaching Gods, after the fourth call the Gods appeared, carrying buckskin which they later place down. From this Buckskin a white ear of corn that was planted was changed into a man, and a yellow corn was transformed into a women and it was the wind that gave them life when the corne was hit by it. later the Gods them to live together as husband and wife after the Gods said to the people to build a brushwood for the man and women.
